John E. Matsson Ph.D., P.E.

Biography

Dr. John Matsson is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Chair of the Engineering, Physics and Physical Science Department at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

His teaching areas include Applied Thermodynamics, Experimental Methods, Finite Element Methods, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing Processes and Principles of Design.

He earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden in 1988 and 1994, respectively and completed postdoctoral work at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway.

He is the Chair of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASME Mid-Continent Section, senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and also a member of the American Physical Society (APS), the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).
