Frank M. Croft Jr., P.E.

Biography

Frank M. Croft, Jr., P.E., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science at The Ohio State University, where he has been since 1984. Before joining the faculty at Ohio State, Dr. Croft had taught 11 years on the college level. He started his academic career at West Virginia Institute of Technology, where he spent three years, and then moved on to the Speed Scientific School, the Engineering College of the University of Louisville, where he spent eight years. He taught engineering graphics at West Virginia Tech and was involved in graphics and transportation at the University of Louisville. During this period with the University of Louisville, he completed a Ph.D. in engineering at Clemson University in South Carolina. In addition to his Ph.D., Dr. Croft has an M.S. in Engineering from West Virginia College of Graduate Studies and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology.

Dr. Croft has been very active with the Engineering Design Graphics Division (EDGD) of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) since 1974. He has served on the publications staff of the EDGD Journal as Associate Editor and as Advertising Manager. He has served as Program Chairman for both the Mid-Year Meeting of the Division and the Annual Conference of ASEE. He has served the division as Vice Chairman and as Chairman. Furthermore, he has been elected to the ASEE Board of Directors and served as a Zone Chair and a PIC Chair.
