Bonni Dichone Ph.D.

Biography

Bonni Dichone, is an Associate Professor at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington in the Department of Mathematics. She received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree, both in Mathematics, from Eastern Washington University, in 2003 and 2005, respectively. She completed her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Washington State University in 2011.

The work of her dissertation, entitled “A Nonlinear Stability Analysis of Vegetative Turing Pattern Formation for an Interaction-Diffusion Plant-Surface Water Model System in an Arid Flat Environment”, was featured in the Economist in 2012.

Dr. Dichone has taught mathematics at the university level since 2003 and, as an applied mathematician, enjoys teaching and working with students across disciplines, especially those in engineering and biology.

She recently co-authored a textbook entitled “Comprehensive Applied Mathematical Modeling in the Natural and Engineering Sciences”, with David J. Wollkind, published by Springer in 2018.
