To Collapse the Exploded View:

Switch to the ConfigurationManager and expand the Default Configuration (arrow 1).
Right click the ExplView1 configuration and select Collapse (arrow 2).

The toolbars should be re-activated at this point for editing.

Shut off surfaces does not populate all edges from the supplied part. This option no longer works as it did in previous version of SOLIDWORKS. The Fillet4 should be deleted in order for this exercise to work. Alternatively, if you wish to keep the Fillet4 in the model, simply select all edges of the other holes manually.

The second to last paragraph should instruct you to: "Repeat the step above and drag the Lower mold block downwards, about the same distance."

Step 4. Should instruct you to select the Shut Off Surfaces Command, as shown in the figure.
