Mechanisms

 

Mechanisms are designed to change the direction, speed or type of motion. The motion of mechanisms may be analyzed using the previously discussed rigid body kinematic equations.

 

A piston changes linear motion to rotary motion.

 

 

A bike changes rotary motion to linear motion.
